In this video, Dr. Suber answers a viewer’s question regarding protracted swelling after tummy tuck. He expands on this question to discuss the “what, where & why” of post-operative swelling, as well as tools and methods available to manage it. Dr. Suber’s answers are general ones, and are not to be considered as a substitute for consultation with an experienced, well trained plastic surgeon.

Doctor, I had a tummy tuck 2 1/2 weeks ago-have some swelling above incision, but also, more worrisome, is that the tissue directly above the mid-section of my incision is rock hard. Why is that? Is it normal?

Thank you Dr. Suber, I think you did a great job of explaining this! I had a little chuckle because you & my boyfriend use your hands the same way to explain things, lol. Thanks again, I look forward to your videos.
